Overview of Course:

Disruptive behaviors and an unhealthy workplace environment have been demonstrated to lead to los of human capital and negatively impact patient safety. Studies have shown evidence of physical and psychological symptoms of stress resulting from disruptive workplace behaviors. Workplace bullying is directly related to less than optimal patient safety. Learners will be aware of negative impact and attain skills to contribute to building an interprofessional culture of safety for a healthy work environment.

Learner Outcomes:

Upon completion of this course, the learner will be able to:

  1. Define workplace incivility, bullying, and similar commonly associated terms as applicable to healthcare organizations.

  2. Express awareness of the negative impact incivility and bullying in healthcare can have on human capital and patient safety and provide a plan for change.

  3. Identify risk factors and evidenced-based tools to address workplace incivility in healthcare organizations.

  4. Outline skills to utilize respectful conversations approach to manage difficult situations to contribute to building a climate of trust and equality within the interprofessional team.

 

Important Information:

The post-test will not launch until you have watched the video in its entirety.   A score of at least 80% on the post-test is required to pass the course.  The participant will have only 1 opportunity to successfully complete the post-test which is comprised of 20 random questions pulled from the pool of test questions.  If the participant fails the post-test, they will not receive any CE credits for this course.
