Overview of Course:
Ultrasound education among anesthesia providers varies greatly as its use for vascular access is fairly recent, as well as, the training and education received in anesthesia training programs. Currently, ultrasound education and training is not mandatory. The purpose of this activity is to provide baseline knowledge for anesthesia providers so that ultrasound can be used safely to improve patient care and outcomes.
Upon completion of this course, the learner will be able to:
State the indications for ultrasound-guided vascular access.
Name the physics and principles of sound.
Describe the relevant anatomy and physiology for vascular access.
Identify the basic procedures for vascular access procedures.
Outline potential complications of ultrasound-guided vascular access.
The post-test will not launch until you have watched the video in its entirety. A score of at least 80% is required to pass the exam in this course. The participant will have only 1 opportunity to successfully complete the post-test which is comprised of 10 random questions pulled from the pool of test questions. If the participant fails the post test, they will not receive any CE credits for this course.
