Overview of Course:  The purpose of this activity is to enable the learner to understand the use of ultrasound so that it can be used safely to improve care and outcomes related to the physics of ultrasound.

Learner Outcomes:  

Upon completion of this course, the learner will be able to:

  1. Identify the physics and principles of sound.
  2. Discuss how sound/tissue interaction is used to create a brightness mode (Bmode) image.
  3. Identify commonly seen artifacts and how they impact an ultrasound image.
