Overview of Course:
Preoperative evaluation of the elective surgical patient remains controversial; therefore, preoperative optimization of the critically ill patient presenting for emergency surgery is an area that needs further exploration and discussion. This purpose of this activity is to discuss perioperative optimization of critically ill patients presenting for emergency surgery.
Upon completion of this course, the learner will be able to:
Describe perioperative optimization of critically ill patients undergoing emergency surgery.
The post-test will not launch until you have watched the video in its entirety. A score of at least 80% is required to pass the exam in this course. The participant will have only 1 opportunity to successfully complete the post-test which is comprised of 10 random questions pulled from the pool of test questions. If the participant fails the post test, they will not receive any CE credits for this course.
