The purpose of this program is to understand the connection and role that peer support programs can have on adverse medical events.

Learner Outcomes

Upon completion of this course, the learner will be able to:

  1. Understand the adverse medical events can have on care providers, the Second Victim phenomenon.
  2. Understand the important role that peer support programs can have on restoring normalcy to impacted care providers.
  3. Understand the connection between vulnerability, relationship and trust as a foundation to creating a safe and compassionate care environment.

Verification of Participation

The participant will have only 2 opportunities to successfully complete the course post-test, which is comprised of 8 random questions pulled from the test pool of questions. The passing score of at least 80% is required for the exam in this course. If the participant fails the post test, he or she will not receive CE credits for this course.
