Overview of Course

The purpose of this program is to provide the learner with the proper monitoring techniques to detect early respiratory compromise, improving patient outcomes.

Learner Outcomes

Upon completion of this course, the learner will be able to:

  1. Describe the impact of respiratory compromise from an incidence, cost, and morbidity & mortality perspective.
  2. Explain the physiologic differences between oxygenation and ventilation.
  3. Compare and contrast currently available monitoring techniques involved in assessing respiratory function.
  4. Review ventilatory best-practice recommendations which support evidence of improved patient outcomes.

Verification of Participation

The participant will have only 2 opportunities to successfully complete the course post-test, which is comprised of 10 random questions pulled from the test pool of questions. The passing score of at least 80% is required for the exam in this course. If the participant fails the post test, he or she will not receive CE credits for this course.
