Overview of Course

The purpose of this program is for attendees to have a global understanding of the origins of ER, elements of an ER program, team implementation, and continuous quality improvement for patient engagement and optimization for expedited return to health.

Learner Outcomes

Upon completion of this course, the learner will be able to:

  1. Provide a historical overview of enhanced recovery program successes and challenges.
  2. Introduce elements of an enhanced recovery pathway and what metrics you will track to engage the team in continued improvement of the program and patient outcomes.
  3. Discuss how multimodal pain management, PONV prophylaxis and fluid management improve outcomes.
  4. DIscuss peri-procedure team and patient alignment strategies to support an enhanced recovery program.

Verification of Participation

The participant will have only 2 opportunities to successfully complete the course post-test, which is comprised of 5 random questions pulled from the test pool of questions. The passing score of at least 80% is required for the exam in this course. If the participant fails the post test, he or she will not receive CE credits for this course.

Accreditation Statement

This course has been prior approved by the AANA for 1.00 Class A CE credit; AANA Code Number: 112308.

AANA designates this program as meeting the criteria for up to 0.25 CE Credit in Pharmacology/Therapeutics.
