Overview of Course
Upon completion of this course, the CRNA will know strategies to minimize or eliminate concentrated medications from the operating room to improve patient safety.
Learner Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, the learner will be able to:
1. Discuss drug preparation/dilution and administration in the operating room and the potential for medication errors with provider-prepared medications.
2. Understand the value of standardizing concentrations in the operating room to improve patient safety.
3. Implement a culture of manufacturer-prepared, ready-to-administer products in the operating room to prevent medication errors and promote evidence-based patient safe practices.
Verification of Participation
The participant will have only 2 opportunities to successfully complete the course post-test, which is comprised of 10 random questions pulled from the test pool of questions. The passing score of at least 80% is required for the exam in this course. If the participant fails the post test, he or she will not receive CE credits for this course.
