Overview of Course
Patients over 65 years of age are at increased risk of cognitive impact due to surgery and anesthesia. Anesthesia professionals have opportunity to tailor anesthesia care to reduce impact on pre-existing cognitive deficits and optimize cognitive recovery for older adults. Awareness of pre-anesthesia screening for cognitive deficit and protective measures including blood pressure and brain monitoring (e.g. Bispectral MonitoringTM), cerebral/somatic oximetry will be discussed.

Verification of Participation
The participant will have only 2 opportunities to successfully complete the course post-test, which is comprised of 5 random questions pulled from the test pool of questions. The passing score of at least 80% is required for the exam in this course. If the participant fails the post test, he or she will not receive CE credits for this course.
