Overview of Course:

The purpose of this activity is to review resources offering guidance in patient selection criteria to assist the anesthesia provider in making the critical decision of appropriate patient selection. Additionally, this course will discuss options for the anesthesia provider to consider to ensure policy is developed so difficult situations that could jeopardize patient safety may be avoided.

Learner Outcomes:

Upon completion of this course, the learner will be able to:

  1. Identify patient selection criteria and preoperative screening for the ambulatory surgery center (ASC)/Office-based setting.

  2. Describe how to navigate the ASC/office setting infrastructure to achieve appropriate patient selection guideline sand policies.


Important Information:

The post-test will not launch until you have watched the video in its entirety.   A passing score of at least 80% is required to pass the exam in this course.  The participant will have only 1 opportunity to successfully complete the post-test which is comprised of 10 random questions pulled from the pool of test questions.  If the participant fails the post-test, they will not receive any CE credits for this course.
