Overview of Course:

This purpose of this activity is to enhance in-depth understanding of the physiological differences across the lifespan as well as the function of and interaction between organ systems and their associated disorders to ensure the safe and effective administration of anesthesia. Participants of the Human Physiology and Pathophysiology CPC Core Module will be provided knowledge regarding high quality patient care and best available evidence on this topic. The AANA CPC Core Modules are recognized as CPC Core Modules by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists.

 

Learner Outcomes:

Upon completion of this course, the learner will be able to:

1. Recognize physiological and pathophysiological cardiovascular events and manage the anesthetic in accordance with evidence-based practices.

2. Recognize physiological and pathophysiological Respiratory events and manage the anesthetic in accordance with evidence-based practices.

3. Recognize physiological and pathophysiological Respiratory events and manage the anesthetic in accordance with evidence-based practices.

4. Recognize physiological and pathophysiological renal events and manage the anesthetic in accordance with evidence-based practices.

5. Recognize physiological and pathophysiological gastrointestinal events and manage the anesthetic in accordance with evidence-based practice.

6. Recognize physiological and pathophysiological hematological events and manage the anesthetic in accordance with evidence-based practices.

7. Recognize physiological and pathophysiological endocrine events and manage the anesthetic in accordance with evidence-based practices.
