Overview of Course:
This purpose of this activity is to enhance the knowledge in basic and advanced airway management instrumentation and techniques, to enhance in-depth understanding of and provide learning experiences in the difficult airway algorithm as a standard of care, and to enhance in-depth understanding of and provide learning experiences in airway management complications. Participants of the Airway Management Techniques CPC Module will be provided knowledge regarding high quality patient care and best available evidence on this topic. The AANA CPC Core Modules are recognized as CPC Core Modules by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists.
Upon completion of this course, the learner will be able to:
1. Recognize and respond with the appropriate instrumentation and techniques with regard to airway management in accordance with evidence-based practices.
2. Anticipate, identify, and manage patients with a potentially difficult airway in accordance with the difficulty airway algorithm.
3. Recognize and respond to airway management complications in accordance with evidence-based practice.
