Overview of Course

The purpose of this activity is to demonstrate that cryoneurolysis is a safe, minimally invasive, non-pharmacologic pain management procedure which uses cold temperatures to ablate the sensory nerves that cause pain and may be considered as part of a multimodal pain management plan.

Learner Outcomes

Upon completion of this course, the learner will be able to: 

  1. Understand how cold temperatures applied to nerve tissue result in reversible nerve damage.
  2. Evaluate the available literature on cryoneurolysis to treat pain caused by sensory nerves.
  3. Recognize the patient populations who may benefit from cryoneurolysis treatment for sensory nerve pain.

Verification of Participation

The participant will have only 2 opportunities to successfully complete the course post-test, which is comprised of 5 random questions pulled from the test pool of questions. The passing score of at least 80% is required for the exam in this course. If the participant fails the post test, he or she will not receive CE credits for this course.
