Overview of Course:

The purpose of this activity is to enable the learner to describe evidence based information about TXA and its mechanism of action as well as its effectiveness in prevention of PPH and blood loss reduction in elective surgery, obstetrics and trauma).

Learner Outcomes:

Upon completion of this course, the learner will be able to: 

  1. Describe the antifibrinolytic effect of tranexamic acid.

  2. Discuss the utility of tranexamic acid in the setting of postpartum hemorrhage.

  3. Cite causes and risk factors of postpartum hemorrhage.

  4. Discuss trials examining the effects of tranexamic acid in postpartum hemorrhage in women scheduled for spontaneous birth and cesarean delivery.


Important Information:

The course post-test will not launch until you have full watched the video in its entirety.   The passing score of at least 80% is required for the exam in this course.  The participant will have only 1 opportunity to successfully complete the course post-test which is 10 random questions pulled from the test pool of questions.  If the participant fails the post test, they will not receive CE credits for this course.
